Some Important Facts About VEGA III

VEGA built as small limestone carrier in Norway between the years 1891 - 1893 and reputed to have been the last of the sailing stone carriers actively trading. Between 1992 - 1995 the vessel was completely restored in Denmark (totally respecting the original hull construction). Since her restoration VEGA represents one of the finest examples of her type and model. During her restoration Vega’s rig was replaced with that of a large gaff cutter. One of the current projects is to return Vega to her original rig as a Scandinavian Topsail Ketch.
